About

Student of the Word, assistant pastor, and a writer still learning to pay attention

I'm Dawson Brown. I serve as an assistant pastor in Springfield, Missouri, which mostly means I get to walk alongside people, study the Bible a lot, and occasionally say things in public. I am not the lead — I am still very much learning what it means to shepherd well.

This site exists because I needed somewhere to put things I was thinking about. I read slowly, I take a lot of notes, and I find that writing forces me to figure out what I actually believe. Most of what I post here starts as a margin note or a question I couldn't shake during a morning with the text.

All Scripture I quote here is from the King James Version. I love the KJV — its cadence, its weight, the way it refuses to be casual. It slows you down, which I think is good for us.

"Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law." — Psalm 119:18 (KJV)

If something I've written helped you, I'd genuinely love to hear about it. You can reach me at dawson@dawsonbrown.org.
